Clinical Features

2–14 days, usually ∼ 5 days

• Often asymptomatic, especially in children

• Fever

• Cough

• Shortness of breath

• Fatigue

• Loss of smell and/or taste

• Sore throat

• Rhinitis

• Headache

• Myalgia

• Diarrhea

• Loss of appetite

• Nausea and vomiting

• Severity ranges from asymptomatic to critical.

• A patient's clinical presentation may change over the course of the disease.

Delta or Omicron variants of COVID-19 often manifest with milder symptoms (e.g., headache, rhinitis, fever, and sore throat) compared to prior strains.
