Regenerative heat recovery
This heat exchanger has a filling mass serving as a short-term heat accumulator, through which a hot and a cold gas flow alternately. Heat is first transferred from the gas to the heat accumulator and then released again to the gas glowing through subsequently.
e.g. heat wheel
high efficiency
low risk for frost
high annual efficiency
leakages from extract air to supply air
maintenance (filters)
Recuperative heat exchanger
A recuperator is a type of heat exchanger that has separate flow paths for each fluid throughout its passages and heat is transferred through the separating walls. Most recuperators operate as counter-flow or cross-flow heat exchangers.
to avoid frost, the efficiency must be reduced in cold days
lower annual efficiency
no transportation of smell or pollutants
Heat wheel temperature efficiency
