I would like to get to know the fire family here. I want to broaden my horizons for my chief training. To expand the exchange between Raleigh and Rostock.

My life revolves around firefighting, I have been in the fire department since I was 10 years old. I have been in some catastrophes and bigger forest fires in Germany. But most of all I appreciate the common goal, the family atmosphere. I am also grateful to my Fire Department for supporting this exchange.

I so I can not say yet, Rostock is just in a restructuring. But I will certainly get a job and I am looking forward to my future in Rostock.

The size, everything is much bigger and louder. Many "goose bumps" moments. . The many friendly firefighters and the great team here in Raleigh. How great my colleagues here welcome and integrate me. Especially Assistant Fire Chief Toms and Cody Charland from Raleigh Sister Cities. Who take very good care of me. I am very thankful having this opportunity for this exchange.

I would like to get to know an all-round view, see where the differences are, what the similarities are. How members are recruited here, how training takes place, how preventive fire protection works. But also the disaster management and of course the everyday life at the station.
