-> mental state verb, very unlikely to be used in the progressive
-> trend verb to show a changing state, very often used in the progressive
Both are possible and mean the same thing:
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon.
I’m always making silly mistakes with progressive aspect.
I always make silly mistakes with progressive aspect.
The present continuous and the present progressive are actually exactly the same thing (some people/grammars use the first expression, others the second).
So you’ve sold your house?
“There’s someone at the door.”
“Don’t get up. I … (answer) it.”
