  3. Satisfy a combination of Credits that achieve a certain number of points of the desired certification level

Four levels of certification:

Certified 40-49 points

Silver 50-59 points

Gold 60-79 points

Platinum 80+ points

Max 100 points + additional 10 bonus points

• each sustainable category has a group of credits that defines a particular sustainability goal

• Only need to achieve enough credits for the certification level. Project does not have to achieve all credits depending on the certification level. It only needs enough credits to achieve the desired certification level.

• Project gets point for achieving credits.

• Have different weighting depending on their ability to impact different environmental and human health concerns

Are credits that are being tested for an updated version of LEED

• comes from everyone that is involved

• Multiple certifications for the same building

• Prerequisites are required for the project to be considered

• Flexible system for different building types

  1. Building Design + Construction (BD+C) for newly constructed or major renovation

  2. Interior design + construction (ID+C) for complete interior fit-out

  3. Building Operations + Maintenance (O+M) for existing buildings that are undergoing improvement work or little to no construction

  4. Neighborhood Development (ND) applies to new land development projects or redevelopment projects

created through volunteer committees
