Alternator – ALT 1; 100-amp Gear-Driven,
ALT 2; 70-amp, Belt-Driven
Caution: Continued operation with the alternators switched off will reduce battery power enough to open the battery relay, remove power from the alternator field, and prevent alternator restart.
Battery - 24 volt, 10-amp (BAT 1),
two 12 volt in series (=24V), 7-amp (BAT 2)
External Power Receptacle* - standard AN-type plug
Note: A negative ground external power source is required. 28VDC

Emergency Equipment
First Aid Kit - 3.5 lbs. (located rear baggage compartment)
Survival Kit - 9.5 lbs. (located in rear baggage compartment)
Fuel System
To select RIGHT or LEFT, turn fuel pump to ON then rotate the selector to the desired position. To select OFF, first RAISE the fuel selector knob release and then rotate the knob to OFF.
Warning: SOLO STUDENT SHALL NOT CHANGE THE FUEL SELECTOR IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN! If required, during DUAL flights only,CM1 may change the fuel selector when the aircraft is on downwind .

Fuel Loading
LAT US aircraft are filled to the top of approximately 58.6 gallons total fuel (56 gallons usable). Special fuel requirements may be requested to stay within maximum weight limits.
Warning: When the fuel tanks are 1/4 full or less, prolonged uncoordinated flight such as slips or skids can uncover the fuel tank outlets. Therefore, if operating with one fuel tank dry or if operating on LEFT or RIGHT tank when 1/4 full or less, do not allow the airplane to remain in uncoordinated flight for periods in excess of 30 seconds.
Fuel Usage
To avoid excessive maintenance on the aileron trim system, maintain fuel balance within approximately a 1/4 tank differential (7.5 US gallon).

Landing Gear
The main landing gears are bolted to composite wing structure between the wing spar and shear web. The landing gear struts are constructed of composite material for fatigue resistance. Each main gear wheel is equipped with an independent, hydraulically operated single cylinder, dual piston, disc brake.
Engine
• Lycoming engine, model IO-390 C3B6,
• with 215 HP @ 2700 RPM. The engine has
• 4 cylinders horizontally opposed and is
• fuel injected and air cooled

Note: Due to the mechanical design of the propeller governor, it is normal for the engine to temporarily exceed 2700 RPM during some phases of flight. If necessary, a slight reduction in throttle setting will decrease the RPM to keep the engine operating at or below 2700 RPM.
