there is no preferred direction for attacks
attackers come from the civil environment
attackers cannot be identified as such or only very late
detection findings:
this requires sensors with very short reaction times
signal processing with tracking and behavior analysis is required
-> urgent and autonomic threat detection are necessary

detection range is not the only relevant measure
reaction time remaining after that threat detection and perception of the situation is crucial for operators
