Development is reliant on cross-functionality, especially from R&D(technology push) and marketing (market pull). Unfortunately those two disciplines are in their characteristics in goals (knowledge as value vs organizational recognition), needs (autonomy vs plans) and motivation(service to humanity vs corporate ladder progress).

In general there are these hurdles in interdisciplinary work:
