The bubble point method
The bubble point method is a characterization method for determining the [pore size destribution] of [microfiltration] membranes. By increasing the pressure on the [gas side] , bubbles form in the [liquid phase] . The first bubble forms at the [largest pores] of the membrane. The physical equation describing the increase of pressure required to remove the [liquid phase] in the pore is called the [Young-Laplace] equation.
