Um die Gefahr einer Coronavirus- oder Influenza-Infektion zu verringern, wird der Bevölkerung zu Recht geraten sich regelmäßig und gründlich die Hände mit Seife zu waschen. Dadurch werden diese Erreger effektiver inaktiviert.
Auch wenn generell bei allen Infektionskrankheiten das Waschen der Hände eine Infektionsgefahr verringert, so ist diese Prozedur bei manchen Viren, die auf dem gleichen Wege übertragen werdern wie die Grippeviren oder Coronaviren, weniger effektiv als z.B. bei Influenza.
