The pretrachial layer of the fascia cervicalis:

• Continues downwards as fascia endotoracica

• Covers the anterior surface of m. pectoralis major

• Is found posterior to the pharynx

• Is attached superiorly to the hyoid bone

• Stretches across the whole neck
