4 Theories of modern Biology
Cell theory:
Cells are the fundamental units of life and all living things are composed of one (unicellular) or more (multicellular) cells or the secreted products of those cells.
Gene theory:
A gene is a unit of heredity and corresponds to a region of the DNA that influences the form or function of an organism in specific ways.
Theory of evolution through natural selection:
Central organizing concept of biology. Life changes and develops through evolution and all life-forms known have a common origin.
(States that individuals with advantageous traits survive and reproduce more often, passing those beneficial traits to their offspring.)
Theory of homeostasis:
Ability of all living organisms to regulate its internal environment to maintain stable conditions.
