Culture is ethnocentric
Ethnocentrism is the belief that
one's own culture is superior to all others and
is the standard by which all other cultures should be measured
When we interact with people who are different from us, it is important to be aware of this ethnocentric tendency because the others are also likely to perceive us as a deviation from their norm.
